Description

The woodland peony is a herbaceous perennial that grows to about 2.5′ tall and has single 3″ white, pink or purple-red flowers with ferny green foliage. It is so stunning in flower that it is the most asked about flower during spring garden tours. The unusual and eye catching bright red seed case lined with black seeds is a highlight in the summer woodland. It will slowly naturalize over time forming colonies, and spreading to nearby parts of the garden.
