Description
Our apple trees were salvaged from a nearby orchard that was being removed, and were already mature at the time of transplanting. They have been pruned in a style reminiscent of bonsai, which emphasizes branch structure and creates the appearance of age and intention.
The cultivated apple (Malus domestica) is among the most genetically diverse and culturally significant fruit trees. Grown as grafted trees, orchard apples balance the wild unpredictability of their Central Asian ancestors with the horticultural precision of breeding and rootstock selection. It thrives in climates with cold winters and long growing seasons, where seasonal variation sharpens flavor and encourages a full floral and fruiting cycle.
