Description

This compact and densely branched lilac cultivar (Syringa meyeri ‘Palibin’) is cherished for its impressive floral display and manageable scale. Forming a rounded, multi-stemmed shrub, it becomes nearly engulfed by clusters of pinkish-lavender blooms in late spring. Its small, leathery leaves and tight growth habit make it well suited for foundation plantings, hedges, or as a standalone specimen.

While smaller than traditional lilacs, ‘Palibin’ is generous with its fragrance, often filling the surrounding air with a sweet, heady scent. It is widely appreciated for its tolerance of pruning and its resistance to powdery mildew—a common lilac affliction. Native to Korea and parts of China, this species thrives in full sun with well-drained soils.
