Description

Globe boxwood (Buxus sempervirens) is a compact, slow-growing evergreen valued for its naturally rounded form and tolerance of heavy pruning. Its small, glossy leaves and dense branching make it ideal for clipped hedges, parterres, and formal garden structures. This cultivar maintains a tidy appearance with minimal shaping and lends itself well to low-maintenance, geometric paintings.

The species B. sempervirens is native to southern Europe, northern Africa, and parts of western Asia, where it grows in rocky woodlands and calcareous soils. In cultivation, globe boxwood performs best in part shade to full sun with well-drained soil, though it is sensitive to root rot and boxwood blight in humid conditions.
