Description

Yellow fairy bells is a graceful, arching woodland perennial native to the shaded forest understories of Korea and northeastern China. Its nodding, pale yellow bell-shaped flowers emerge in spring at the ends of slender, zig-zagging stems and are followed by bluish-black berries in late summer. Its gentle form and bright blooms make it a subtle but elegant addition to shaded garden beds or naturalistic plantings.

Disporum uniflorum prefers moist, humus-rich soils with good drainage and thrives in dappled to full shade. It spreads slowly via rhizomes, forming small, clumping colonies that integrate well with other woodland species, such as ferns, hellebores, and trilliums. Its delicate presence and low-maintenance needs have earned it a quiet yet loyal place in woodland garden design.
